What is something you are looking forward to in 2023? What is something you are worried about? If you do find yourself struggling, who will you look to for support? When you are thriving, who will you look to celebrate with?
*Food for thought: hopes and concerns are often things that come into our mind with the arrival of a new year. The goal of this post is to share those thoughts and consider the people you trust and would be able to share those experiences with--both positive and negative. The strength of solidarity and support can be so powerful.*
Thank you for your time & willingness to share your thoughts! 😊
I'm really looking forward to being on the other side of didactics. The first 2 years of med school have felt so grueling, and I don't feel like I'm doing much to help people, so I'm excited to be on the wards and putting some of my knowledge to use. This year, I've taken on a scholar position at my school, and while I've learned so much and had many opportunities to practice my teaching capabilities, I am ready to be in the hospital and apply my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteBecause I took this year, most of my med school friends have moved away, and I definitely don't have the same level of support that I once did. That being said, my wife is an unending fountain of support, and I'm really grateful to have her to lean on when things get rough. But she's also my favorite one to celebrate with when things are good.
